Hilarious sleuths Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason head to Florida for the winter.
True to his words, Sheriff Clem Peterson sends Agnes Barton and Eleanor Mason packing to Florida via a Cessna, but things go haywire when during a fuel stop, two men shoot the pilot. Agnes springs into action slamming the door just as shots are fired while Frank Alton jumps into the cockpit flying them out of there.
When they land in Florida, they’re asked tough questions by Putner and Palmer from Homeland Security. They keep asking if they found a packet on board the plane, a packet that Agnes has tucked in her purse, but they never mention what’s in the packet. She decides to hold onto it; after all it contains twenty-five thousand in cash.
Sheriff Calvin Peterson, Sheriff Clem Peterson’s brother, picks them up from the airport in Florida, but tells them the bad news. His brother Clem made arrangements for them to stay at Sunny Brooke Retirement Village and work as the hired help to pay for their room and board. They go unwillingly, but discover in town that two maids have disappeared at Sunny Brooke.
It’s a race against the clock; will Agnes and Eleanor solve the case of the missing maids and finally figure out what happened to their pilot before they also show up on a milk jug?

Senior Snoops cozy mystery Book 3 Agnes Barton Senior Sleuth Mystery edition by Madison Johns Literature Fiction eBooks
Madison Johns has successfully continued to weave a web of intrigue, romance, danger, mystery and murder within an elder snowbird village. To keep the two seniors fresh as they gently age through the emerging series of Senior Sleuth stories, Johns introduces them to new settings and an addition cast of characters. The sheriff of the first two books fulfills his promise of giving the ladies an all expense paid winter trip to Florida, arranging room and board for them in his brother's town. His brother, coincidentally, is also a sheriff, but seems cut of a different cloth (to use one of Eleanor's expressions.) She and Agnes, her 'partner in crime-solving,' are a bit taken aback at the terms of their arrangements.
Florida is not Lake Huron, and swimmers dress differently, when they dress. Scandalized but mesmerized by the differences, Aggie and El set out to solve one mystery, and then encounter another, and yet another, and still another. They are chased, seduced, shot at, robbed and at times infuriated by the people they encounter.
Their paramours, Mr. Wilson and Andrew, are with them in Florida, and bring a level of confidence and peace with them. If you loved meeting all of these characters in Armed and Outrageous, and worried about and with them through Grannies, Guns and Ghosts, you will enjoy their adventures in Senior Snoops. They say three's the charm, but maybe we'll be lucky enough to see more stories featuring these intrepid old ladies.

Senior Snoops cozy mystery Book 3 Agnes Barton Senior Sleuth Mystery edition by Madison Johns Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is the first Madison Johns book that I have read in a long time. I love her stories, but I have so many books that sometimes I get caught up in the, so many books, so little time loop. Although it's been awhile since I've read the first two books, it was like being back with old friends. The characters are so much fun and the mysteries are so unpredictable. I can't wait to get to the next book. Don't miss this series.
This third in the series was better than the other two combined. The Senior Snoops are getting to winter in Florida. Nice! If they thought it would all be beaches and tans, though, they got a rude awakening long before they got to their destination. So murder and mysteries abound.
After the two previous books I feel I know Agnes and Eleanor as good friends. They have spunk and are active seniors. They are sexually active and enjoy the men in their lives with enthusiasm. And they are snoopy! They can get in more trouble than any twelve teens.
I did enjoy this book. There are a few editing issues, but they don't get in the way of the story. I think my biggest gripe was the making Agnes become a sudden prude on nude beaches or in the strip club. I didn't see her that way before this book so the few remarks that made her that way stopped the story short for me. Still, I have the next set of books set up. I have a few other books I am supposed to be reading first, but I'll be happy to see what Madison Johns has these snoops up to next.
These are great light reading for when you need a break from heavier literary pursuits.
I chose this book to read both because I am a senior and also because I like mysteries. However, I was quite disappointed with this book because the vocabulary is about fourth grade level, and the plot did not seem very well planned. The story seemed to be under construction as it rolled along without having been planned in advance.
Another disappointment I had with the book is that there is too much attention given to sex for my taste. I do not like to think of other senior citizens pawing on each other publicly, going to nude beaches, making passes at married people, and so forth. That whole aspect of the book made me feel sick. If people want to live that way it is their business but I do not want to read a description of it.
To whom would I recommend the book? For senior citizens who did not go to college, who like to frequent night clubs and nude beaches.
I read the first book in this series and thought it was just "ok". Then I bought this one, thinking I was getting the second book. I decided to read it anyway, since it often doesn't make much difference what order they are read in. I'm still not very excited about the characters or writing style. Ms. Johns must be a very young person to make her characters so crude and rude as "senior citizens". Not all of us ladies of a "certain age" are man crazy, nor do we all get rude and crude when we are dealing with adversity.
I guess I didn't notice the typos and grammatical errors in the first volume, or I would definitely not have bothered with this one. As an over-60 woman, I learned proper grammar in school and think authors today need to study noun-verb agreement in particular. One of my BIGGEST peeves is the writer or speaker who says things like "He came too close to Jane and I" - - you would never say "He came too close to I", so why can't you get this one right?
Won't be getting any more of this series, sorry Ms. Johns. 2 chances are all you get from me.
I think the author has the most amazing sense of humor for this type of writing that I have come upon yet. The twists and turns in this book were well thought out I actually have a long time friend that "is" Eleanor to a tee. I relate to Agnes so for me this series is an adventure I can imagine doing. I could not put this book down. I recommend this book as a stand alone or as part of a series, which I intend to read all that is written . My copy was purchased from . You can buy yours there.
